heckenberger family vacation day 5

we were now in orlando and on day 5 we went to hollywood studios. we have never been to disney world. now we have. it was a solid trip. pretty fun day. very tiring. and i'd prefer to not go back there. but at least now i can say i've been there...

we started things out with the muppets, because who else should start things off?

here, chris gives fozzy bear a lil wacka wacka on his rear. sister and mom retreat in embarrassment...

meredith stares at me with x-ray glasses. thank goodness chris and i tanned our thighs...

this was the toy story ride. it was the best ride there. it was also the most popular so we only got to ride it once, but believe me, i made my family pay by dominating them in throwing pies, darts, rings and etc at anything i could find. in the land of the blind, the man with one eye is king.

whoaie whoaie

my mom. my ant.

there was a discussion on who's who in the land of oz. meredith we figured out was the lion because she has no courage. chris is dorothy because he is the pretty boy. and me, well i'm the tin man. because i am heartless and shallow and numb to emotion. if you knew adam bruckner was my father, you understand. and he would tell you he was proud...

i can do a great mickey impression as my brother and sister found out waiting for an hour for this show to start.

if you don't think home alone is the greatest christmas movie ever, you're drunk. and this kind of tree is kevin mcallister's dream.

clearly everyone was in the christmas spirit. except one.

i don't know how people go here with a family. i would never want to. i would prefer to marry a girl who doesn't ever want to go there. add that to the list.

heckenberger family vacation day 4

first off, i'd like to once again apologize for my weak performance on day 3. i'm trying to bounce back. i am in orlando now. it is 1 in the morning and we are going to disney world tomorrow. i have not been there before. but before we move on to the future we must look back at the past. i enjoyed sanibel island. i was full of sun and trees and birds and i dont know about stingrays because i avoided the gulf like it was fruit. there were many russians there visting i think, or at least eastern europeans. there was a younger gentleman that followed anyone who pay attention to him and i tried to avoid him like it was fruit. i also learned that spray on sunblock is not my thing, as my trimmings of my core are all burn but my core is perfectly fine. i'll stick to the lather. we sat around a pool for most of this part of the trip but that is what vacation is all about. and yet i can't stay up past midnight hardly. i am rery tire.

here, from day 4...

chris of course, was trying to get his thighs tan. i tried to also.

this is theo.

this is a tribal lai worn in the 1970's by hawaiian warriors used sparcely in the battle of antietam.

this is the part of the show where chris and i go onto the beach and since it's our last day there we dont care who watches us cuz we'll never see them again. we didn't do much but we did do some karate with the 1.4. chris looks like he's in the movie snatch.

i, on the other hand, look like a white man's ice t.

chris, he does the thing called a "flip"

me, i have perfected a move i call -- "the dueling pistols"

we were going to go on a "sunset cruise" in the gulf to see dolphins. it got cancelled due to lack of interest from people not named heckenberger and my parents refused to pay for 3 other spots so we could go. speaking of dolphins, i once wrote an article for the daily collegian at penn state about the wing bowl and yao wing, a competitor in that event, sent me an email saying he really enjoyed it and was glad it made it all the way to penn state. and yao ate a huge chunk of dolphin meat to make it into wing bowl.

things would get worse for them. but not for me. i just heckled and then ran to yet another hot tub with chris heckenberger! we'll let the ladies decide what we're gonna do in orlando! i would also like to take some time out tonight to thank mr. one sean mcevoy. his father is the mayor of unionville and he got us some real cheap rooms in orlando. i guess i will have to step up to the unionville gift level and get him a sweet present at his wedding next summer. i also need to bring an impressive date there because needless to say, i have not impressed those coaches many times. please inquire below.

this is the part of the blog where i get a little sentimental. you see, you go through life and you don't realize what you have until its gone. and it's been over 5 years now since i have used shampoo. and by use shampoo, i mean on my head, i do enjoy it in my chest hair from time to time. but every time i go to a hotel i see my old friend and i wonder, how many things would be different if we were still together. well that's for another time. in fact i'm considering writing a book and the title is probably going to be called "something's missing." and you can only imagine...

heckenberger family vacation day 3

day 3 was another glorious day, but not so many pictures. here's a few...

and if you've been keeping track from home, following the posts, you'll remember that girl we saw betweent 10 and 30. the only one. it turns out she was closer to 10 than 30. 15 to be exact. and that wasn't her boyfriend. that was her older brother. and they were from kansas. and i tried to make jokes to her in the hot tub and her brother just stayed quiet and stared at me. and she is 15. and i'm going to jail now. hopefully the let me blog in there...

of course, all the wild times happen in the elevator...

heckenberger vacation day 2

well, we just got done a riveting game of uno so here's the latest update from down south. it turns out it is in the 70s and sunny here in december still and i'm afraid to go in the gulf because my grandma told me there are stingrays in there and i don't want to step on one so i have stuck to the pool and the hot tub which have been incredibly enjoyable. i'll be honest, sanibel is known for its senior citizen population and i have seen one girl who was under 30 and above 10 and me and chris looked at her for a little while but then her boyfriend came out and we looked elsewhere after that. but...

here is the view from our hotel at the crack of dawn...

and here are some events and sights following...

the aforementioned pool...

and the very bubbly hot tub. (it's like a poorman's welshly arms!)

this is the beach. you can't see the stingrays, but they're there. speaking of rays, i've been wearing plenty of phillies gear in hopes of finding a tampa bay rays fan. but the rumors are true - there are none.

our back yard...

here's the entire family in front of the christmas tree. we heard all about a place called the mucky duck and it did not disappoint. the people told us to get a window seat and we later found out why. later you will too...

later is here. and this is the view from the mucky duck.
